This evaluation report is about the pilot project Philosophical Exploratorium, which is focused on having philosophical dialogues with children, in informal learning environments. The project stems from the belief that children should be co-creators in relation to their own education. Children should be viewed as co-creators in their own lives and in the world that they are a part of.

The purpose of the project was to compose a proposal on how a basic module in Our World Academy could look like. Philosophical Exploratorium was designed to help promote and develop philosophical thinking in children. The project gave children the opportunity to further their competences and unfold what it means to be a creative world citizen.

The project documented the children’s experiences with the material and the activities that has been developed within this field. The main task in the project was to test and develop materials, formats, and content together with children and youngsters, and to gather knowledge about the development of the creative world citizenship.

Philosophical Exploratorium

This evaluation report is focused on the framework and foundation on which a basic module for Our World Academy should be built. Furthermore, it reports the results achieved in connection with the project. The project has been continuously evaluated by both children and observers to make room for follow ups, adjustments, and evaluation of approaches, materials, and activities.

The evaluation is aimed at all professionals within the field, leaders, consultants, and interested parties, who wish for an increased focus on and inspiration for the development of the co-creational, experimenting, and playful approach to learning.
